At the end of our unit on the Renaissance, Inspired by the masterpieces of the Sistine Chapel, our 5th grade artists took creativity to new heights, literally! Just like Michelangelo painting above him, students transformed the undersides of their desks into stunning works of art. This unique “ceiling” project challenged them to think like Renaissance artists while having a little fun along the way.

Congratulations to these 3rd-5th grade spellers who competed on Tuesday in the Shullsburg Elementary Spelling Bee. To make it to this level, students had to be champions in their classroom spelling bees. The following were grade-level spellers. From 3rd Grade: Fox Hosely, Tycen Lyne, Mason Grunenwald, and Eli Hammer. From 4th Grade: Brantley Hocking, Diedrich Booth, and Addilynn Fisher. And from 5th Grade: Iker Sanchez and Lyla Bennett.
Our overall Shullsburg Elementary Spelling Bee Champion was Iker Sanchez and our runner up was Fox Hosely. Congratulations to all of our spellers!
